We have partnered with Colorado State University to provide its Master of Computer Information Systems (MCIS) program in a hybrid mode to students in India. CSU is among the Top 100 Public Universities in the US. In 2023, US News & World Report ranked the online program No.1 in Colorado for five consecutive years, No.9 nationwide among public institutions and AACSB-accredited - a status achieved by less than 5% of business schools worldwide.
The minimum eligibility requirement is an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in any field with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. Students with both technical and non-technical backgrounds can apply for the program. Please read more in the eligibility section for details. The GRE requirement is waived if you have 2+ years of work experience.
English proficiency is required as a part of the student’s online and on-campus application. The minimum score requirements are IELTS - 6.5, TOEFL (iBT) - 86, and PTE - 58.
The deadlines are:
For Fall - 1st July (Classes start in August)
For Spring - 1st December (Classes begin in January)
For academic queries, students will have a dedicated Academic Advisor to help answer any questions while in the MCIS program. Non-academic support is provided by Leap, including visa counselling, student support, coaching and mentorship.
Yes, international students on an F-1 visa can work up to 20 hours per week on-campus during the academic semesters. Specific immigration regulations and information will be provided during international student orientation.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. International MCIS students can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which allows them to work for 12 months in the US after completing the program. The STEM designation of the MCIS program makes students eligible for an additional 24-month OPT extension. With up to 36 months more time to work and network in the US, international students can build valuable professional skills and contacts to help them with their career endeavours.
All students can apply for graduate assistantships and /or scholarships. These options are limited and competitive, but they are available. Students must be admitted to apply, and most opportunities require an application by February 1 or March 1 to begin in August.
Students in the online MCIS program can join lectures live with the on-campus MCIS students or watch the recorded lectures (available by the next day) to participate in online learning. Courses are taught by CSU faculty. Some of the MCIS classrooms are equipped with our transformational engagement platform, Mosaic, where students in the online class can choose to participate with their webcam and microphone like they are in the actual class! Check out the Mosaic Informational Video.
Yes, students with 15 years of education with relevant grades and experience are eligible for this program, but it’s at the university's discretion. The profile of the applicant will be evaluated thoroughly.
