- Completed a Bachelor of Science: 3 year undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- English proficiency test: IELTS (6.5) TOEFL (79) Duolingo (105), PTE (53)
- GRE score; Verbal (140)
- All applicants are eligible for the Merit Scholarship based on GRE Scores
- Pre requisite courses: Statistics, Matrix Methods/Linear Algebra, Basic calculus, Introductory computer programming
- If a student is missing statistics or matrix methods they can be admitted with the requirement to take DSA 500 - a bridge course that is in addition to the 33 credits of the MS DSA Degree Requirements

We have partnered with the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute, New York's premier public polytechnic, to create pathways for Indian students to earn a Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics (MS DSA) in a hybrid format. The MS DSA program prepares students to be productive contributors in many professions dealing with complex data, in particular those that relate to the ethical collection, exploration and preparation of multi-modal data, the design of analytics models to extract knowledge from data, and the effective communication of data analysis results to company leaders and decision-makers.
What are the eligibility requirements for this program?
Successful applicants have completed a Bachelor of Science: 3 yr undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Scholarship available as per the GRE Score:
1. Q 160+ = ₹5.80 Lakhs
2. Q 157-159 = ₹4.97 Lakhs
3. Q 153-156 = ₹4.13 Lakhs
What are the English proficiency and other requirements for this program?
Applicants to SUNY Poly must demonstrate English language proficiency by achieving the minimum score noted below from one of the following standardized exams:
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Internet based score of 79
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Overall band score of 6.5
• PTE Academic (PTE): Overall score of 53
• Duolingo English Test (DET): Total score of 105
• iTEP: Overall score of 4.4
What is the deadline for the program?
Applications are open. Classes for fall begin online in August and classes for spring begin online in January. Apply by July 1 to begin in the fall semester and November 1 to begin in the spring semester. Can students work during their studies in the US?
Yes, international students on an F-1 visa can work up to 20 hours per week on-campus during the academic semesters. On-campus jobs are competitive, not guaranteed, and typically are not professional-level positions. After being admitted, students can view and apply to campus jobs using the online job board, Handshake.
What are STEM and OPT?
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Students studying in a STEM-designated program can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), allowing them to work for 12 months in the US after completing the degree program. The STEM designation of the degree makes students eligible for an additional 24-month STEM OPT extension. With up to 36 months more time to work and network in the US, international students can build valuable professional skills and contacts to help them with their career endeavors.
